John J. Atkins, D.M.D
Dr. John, as he is affectionately called by all, has been practicing dentistry
for over 17 years. His calming demeanor, generous spirit and wicked sense
of humor make him a favorite among his patients.
Dr. John earned a B.A at Connecticut College in 1979 and went on to receive
an M.A from the American University in 1982. After completing a graduate program
in International Law and Diplomacy, Dr. John turned his career aspirations
to dentistry. He completed his D.M.D at Boston University School of Dentistry
in 1986. He pursued an interest in implants by attending Harvard University’s
program in Implantology. Dr. John is active in implant and general dentistry
organizations.
A skiing and tennis enthusiast, Dr. John enjoys tackling black
diamond trails during the winter and playing tennis matches
with friends in the summer time. Aside from his family and dentistry,
another passion is renovating houses. He and his wife, Jamie,
have renovated four homes over the past twenty years.
George Atkins, D.M.D., M.A.G.D.
Dr. George has been practicing general dentistry since graduating from Tufts
in 1956. His loyal patient base is a testament to his skillfulness and sensitivity
as a dentist.
In 1952, Dr. George earned a B.S at the University of Massachusetts
and went on to complete his D.M.D at Tufts University School
of Dentistry in 1956. His interests as a medical professional
have spanned from forensic medicine to nutrition. He has taught
prosthetics and TMJ treatment at Boston University School of
Dentistry and is affiliated with numerous organizations, including
those devoted to orthodonture and TMJ.
A world-traveler, Dr. George has been to Africa, Europe, South America, Mexico,
the Caribbean and Canada. He is an expert skier and prefers the slopes at Copper
Mountain in Colorado. Dr. George is currently writing a novel titled “Dogface
Waltz” about a GI based in Vienna during WWII.
Suzanne
Suzanne received a CDA, Certified Dental Assistant certification, at Massasoit
Community College. She has been with Atkins Dentistry for almost nine years.
Suzanne is friendly and cheerful. Her infectious laughter gives the office
an upbeat atmosphere. Patients love her enthusiasm and the staff loves her
helpful attitude and dedication. Suzanne is always on the go, ensuring that
the needs of the patient and Dr. John are taken care of as efficiently as possible.
Corey
Corey received her training at Middlesex Community College and has been a practicing
hygienist for six years. She has been with Atkins Dentistry since March 2002.
Corey’s commitment to dentistry is evident through her
work. She is conscientious, compassionate and has a strong work
ethic. Corey takes part in continuing education courses that
feature the latest technology in the field of dental hygiene
to ensure that she is versed in the most up-to-date procedures.
Corey loves being a mother to her daughter, Sarah. She runs a playgroup in
her hometown and enjoys cooking, knitting and travel.
Diane
Diane has been working at Atkins Dentistry for over
eleven years. She completed her education in dental hygiene
at Forsyth and maintains her certification through numerous
continuing education courses offered throughout New England.
Diane’s professionalism and pleasant personality has
helped to develop a strong patient base at Atkins Dentistry.
