Our Dentists:
John J Atkins, DMD: Dr. John, as he is affectionately called by all, has been practicing dentistry since 1986. His Calming demeanor, generous spirit, and keen sense of humor make him a favorite among his patients.
Dr. John earned a B.A. at Connecticut College in 1979 and an M.A. from the American University in 1982. After completing a graduate program in International Law and Diplomacy, Dr. John turned his attention to dentistry. He earned his D.M.D. at Boston University School of Dentistry. He pursued an interest in implants by attending Harvard University’s program in Implantology.
Dr. John greatly enjoys quality time with family and friends, over a cup of coffee or a nice bottle of wine. When relaxed conversation ends, he enjoys taking the conversation outside to ski, play tennis, or walk the beach.
George Atkins, DMD, MAGD: Dr. George has been practicing general dentistry since graduating from Tufts in 1956. He earned a B.S. at the University of Massachusetts and completed his D.M.D. at Tufts University School of Dentistry.
Dr. George’s interests as medical professional have spanned from forensic medicine to nutrition. He taught prosthetics and TMJ treatment at Boston School of Dentistry. A world traveler, Dr. George has been to Africa, Europe, South America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Canada.
Our Dental Assistant:
Suzanne, CDA: Suzanne attended Massasoit Community College and became a Certified Dental Assistant in 1999. She has been with Atkins Dentistry since 1997. Suzanne spends her free time being a devoted wife and mother to her husband, David, and her son, Daniel. Suzanne’s infectious laughter gives the office an upbeat atmosphere. Patients love her enthusiasm and the staff loves her helpful attitude and dedication.
Our Hygienists:
Marcia, CDH: Marcia has been in the dental field for most of her life. Her father was a dentist and she grew up helping out whenever she could until she attended Forsyth and became certified as a hygienist. Marcia has been with Atkins Dentistry since April of 2007 and loves the opportunity to work with such a diverse and interesting assembly of patients.
She shares a home with her husband, Don, in Westwood where she likes to garden and decorate. Marcia adores attending auctions and antiquing around New England.
Corey, CDH: Corey received her training at Middlesex Community College in 1998 and has been a hygienist with our office since March 2002. Her commitment to dentistry is evident through her work. She is conscientious and compassionate.
Corey has a wonderful daughter, Sarah, and delights in the Spanish language, which they are learning together. She is a Certified CPR instructor and recently began face painting in her spare time. She also enjoys cooking, knitting and traveling.
Our Front Desk:
Sophie: Sophie graduated from Regis College with a B.A. of History in 2008. She is now attending the University of Massachusetts at Boston for an M.S. in Human Services and is working towards a career in Social Work Management.
Sophie has been with the office since January 2008 and loves every part of her day, especially talking with all of our patients. She enjoys putting on a pair of sweats and hanging out with friends. In her spare time, Sophie volunteers in the city and kayaks in Maine with her parents.
Eileen: Eileen has been with our office since April of 2007 and brings over 40 years of dental experience to our patients. Eileen lives in Stoughton with her husband, Harvey, and loves spending time with her two daughters and grandchildren.
In her spare time, Eileen collects Coca-Cola memorabilia and is an accomplished seamstress. She loves working at Atkins Dentistry because of the friends she’s made among the staff and the wonderful patients that she’s met.
